Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state became stranded in Kano state after his trip to Saudi Arabia for a lesser hajj was aborted at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport when it was discovered that his visa had expired.

According to Sahara reporters, the governor had boarded the Saudi Arabia bound aircraft on Wednesday, evening, June 29 and sat on his reserved seat while his aides were busy processing his travel documents only to ‎discover that his visa has expired.

After the governor learnt of the expired visa on his passport, the disappointed governor had no alternative but to disembark from the aircraft.

He then proceeded to the Kano state government house, where he spent the night.

Meanwhile, the leadership crisis rocking the Kogi state House of Assembly may be resolved soon as the warring factions have agreed to allow peace reign.

This followed a closed door meeting held with all the warring factions of the state assembly including the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; his deputy, Simon Achuba, and other top government officials, This Day reports.

At the meeting which held on Thursday, June 23, a 10- man reconciliation committee headed by John Nihi, brokered peace between the two warring groups.
